User guide
Everything you need to make the most of your sticky-note board, without unnecessary complexity.
1. Start with four welcome notes
Every new visit opens with four sample notes in different colors. Previous notes are not automatically restored. Use Open notes to load a saved JSON file.
2. Write and add notes
Click the text area and start typing. There is no separate title field. Choose Add note to create a new note in a randomly selected color. New notes form small diagonal stacks, ten per group.
3. Select notes
Click a note to select it. Drag across an empty area of the board to select several notes at once. Press Ctrl+A when you are not editing text to select all notes. Clicking empty space clears the selection.
4. Move notes
Drag a note by its handle or paper area. With Magnet ON, nearby notes slide into place as you move them. With Magnet OFF, you can place notes anywhere and overlap them. Hold Ctrl while dragging a selected note to move the entire selected group.
5. Magnet ON and OFF
Magnet ON snaps notes into rows or columns and pulls nearby notes into empty spaces after a deletion. Magnet OFF keeps manual positions. Switching modes does not automatically erase your arrangement.
6. Arrange the board
Arrange rows places notes left to right. Arrange columns builds a vertical stack. Fit to page spreads notes across the visible space without shrinking each note. If there are too many notes, scrolling may still be needed.
7. Delete one note
Click the × button on a note. A small pinaMemo confirmation appears over that note. Confirm to delete it, or Cancel to keep it.
8. Delete multiple notes
Select several notes, then choose Delete selected or press Delete. The confirmation appears in the center. Delete all removes every note on the current board.
9. Undo a deletion
Choose Undo delete to restore the most recently deleted notes. Ctrl+Z also reverses supported board actions, including moves and deletions, when focus is not in a text field.
10. Right-click actions
Right-click a single note for Copy text, Duplicate note, and Add link. Add link attaches a web URL or Windows folder path to an existing note without changing its text. The button to open it appears at the bottom. Opening a Windows folder in Explorer works only on your own PC with the optional Start_Folder_Helper.bat running alongside localhost:8788. When multiple notes are selected, the menu offers Copy selected notes and Delete selected notes.
11. Save and Save as
Save notes stores your board as a JSON file. Save as asks for a different filename. On browsers with the File System Access API, you may be able to overwrite an opened file. Other browsers download a fresh JSON file.
12. Open a saved file
Choose Open notes and select a JSON file previously saved by pinaMemo. Confirm to replace the current board with the file contents. Unsaved changes on the existing board will be lost.
13. Saved and unsaved indicators
An orange dot marks a note with unsaved changes. It disappears after a successful save. A notice at the top of the page also shows whether the board has unsaved changes.
14. Close all vs. Delete all
Close all ends your current board session, asking you to save if there are unsaved changes. Delete all removes the notes from the current board but does not delete any JSON files you saved earlier.
15. Keyboard shortcuts
- Ctrl+S: save notes.
- Ctrl+Shift+S: save as.
- Ctrl+O: open notes.
- Ctrl+A: select all notes, except when typing in a note.
- Delete: delete selected notes.
- Ctrl+Z: undo supported board changes.
- Esc: cancel a dialog or clear selection.
16. Leaving the page
For links inside the website, a pinaMemo confirmation can warn you about unsaved work. Closing the browser tab, reloading, or typing another address may only show a standard browser warning. Browsers do not allow websites to replace that warning with custom dialogs.
17. Language switching
Use English / 한글 in the header. Changing language on the memo board keeps your current notes on screen and does not translate your own text. The help and policy pages are available in both languages.
Tip: save frequently. pinaMemo does not automatically bring your notes back after a refresh or a new visit.

Save a web page or product
Select Save web page, paste a full website or shopping link, and choose Create note.
Regular websites keep the familiar sticky-note appearance. Shopping and product links become compact white product cards with a product image, an editable item name, and a View product ↗ button. Both card types keep the same size and can be dragged and arranged together.
When you paste a shopping link, pinaMemo tries to find its product image. If it is unavailable, you can paste a product image URL manually, or leave the neutral shopping-bag placeholder. No prices are collected.
pinaMemo tries to read public page metadata when hosted with its Cloudflare Pages Function. Local HTML files and websites that restrict access may not provide a title automatically. Enter the title yourself when needed. Your product-card type, image URL, links, and edited titles are stored with your JSON file. Some stores block external images or metadata, so automatic previews are not guaranteed.
On narrow browser windows, the toolbar becomes an icon-only sidebar on the left. Hover over an icon to see its function.
